^{We had our appointement with Dr. Gonzalez yesterday morning and all is well! My numbers improved and the cancer is dying off. My Cancer Mass Index went from a 25 to a 22-, which is a great. This is the big number that I am watching, once it is below 10 I will be considered cancer free. You can see why the program takes approximately 2 years, your numbers move a few digits every 6 months. This has certainly taught me a lot about patience :o) But we are absolutely thrilled with the results and so is Dr. Gonzalez. Luckily, I was not as nervous about this visit due to the fact that I feel so incredibly good on his program. No coughing, no problem breathing, no pain. I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but he said as long as I continue to do the program my numbers will continue to improve.  Dr. Gonzalez is such a blessing, I only wish more people knew about him. He saves lives everyday and does it in a way that restores the body instead of breaking it down. Giving thanks on this beautiful day for my health and for Dr. Gonzalez.}

^{The test is a two page report, tracking how every organ and gland in your body is functioning. Here are a few of my other numbers that we are watching closely. Toxins went from a 16 to 12 and my DNA Damage went from a 17 to 15 (10 and below is normal). My lungs went from an 85 to 86+ and my total body function went from an 82 to 85 (these numbers need to get above 89).}

I am overcome with JOY & HOPE…. our trip to New York was amazing. Dr. Gonzalez is amazing! After two days of appointments and reviewing all of my tests, he is confident that if I follow his program to a T, that I will be able to cleanse my body (lungs) of this cancer…or at the very least manage it (keep it from growing).  This program is a very big commitment; it is a complete lifestyle change… where I will be taking capsules all day (188 pills), eat only certain organic foods, and following various procedures to cleanse/detox my body. The program is non-toxic so it won’t make me sick like chemo.  He was also able to confirm with one of the test that it is in fact the sarcoma growing in my lungs. He did say that I was in much better health than most patients he treats… and that is definitely going to make things a little easier. I asked how long until I was back to full health, he said that it could be a couple of years (maybe less). Even then, I will stay on a similar program for life to be sure the cancer does not reoccur.

 

Dr. Gonzalez is a kind, humble and brilliant man. He does God’s work because it is his life’s calling. He is a man of strong faith, and brings hope and health to his patients… all in the name of the Father.

 

After our first appointment, Shannon and I went into this gorgeous old church about a block from his office to give thanks for this wonderful news. As I was praying, I looked up and there was this huge inscription that read “LORD IT IS GOOD FOR US TO BE HERE”. Shannon and I both began to cry… My savior has been by my side every step of the way, guiding and leading me down the right path. I knew at that moment everything was going to be okay and we were exactly where he wanted us to be.

My Dear Friends and Family,

 

As many of you know my follow up CT Scan and MRI were this past Monday. We meet with the doctors on Tuesday and sadly things do not look good. My lungs are covered in several tiny spots (the one they saw on the January scan has grown). The Medical Oncologist said at this point he could not say 100% that it was the synovial sarcoma, but that he was pretty sure that it was. We opted not to have a biopsy since they were so small and he wasn't sure he could get a good sample, plus the larger one is very close to my heart and we all agreed not to attempt to biopsy that mass.  We then decided that the best option was to wait until June and do a follow-up CT Scan of my chest, the doctor said at that time he could be sure.... because the tiny spots would have grown and there will be additional new spots, but he would still do a biopsy to be 100%.

 

So here comes the scary part... if the cancer has metastasized to my lungs, the long-term (5+ years) survival rate is very low. The Oncologist said that with the chemo and then surgery to remove the masses as they appeared might buy me 3 years give or take (being very sick for the remainder of my life)... or I could choose to feel good and stay healthy as long as I could (maybe 2 years) until the cancer took over. The kind of cancer I have just does not respond well to chemo - the doctor flat out said that the chemo will not save my life.... only buy me time.  As you can imagine I am sick - completely devastated, but having to hold it together for the sake of my girls. We will not be discussing any of this with them until it is absolutely necessary.  I am clinging to my faith and my family. I really don't know what to think right now, there are so many emotions and they change from moment to moment. I still have that fight inside and I plan to do everything in my power to battle this horrible disease.

 

Luckily, I am going to see Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez on May 5th & 6th. He has cured many stage IV cancers and I am hoping and praying that he will help me save my life.

Hoping to become a patient of Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez, will let you know when I find out if I'm approved or not. I was able to speak with one of his patients yesterday, she was also diagnosed with synovial sarcoma.   She gave me some great information and said she has never felt better. I will still be under the care of Dr. Rose at Mayo and will continue to make my trip up to see him every 3-4 months.

Picking up the Pieces - By Carey Reading

I remember the very moment it all began. I had just finished a rigorous pump class at my gym. As usual, I started my stretching routine. When I reached for my left toes to get a nice stretch down my back, I felt a ripping sensation down the bottom right quadrant of my back muscles. I had been a yoga student for years, worked out daily, was a devout vegetarian and was very in tune with my body.  This was my body, actually speaking to me loud and clear, yelling at me from my lower back, "Hey you! I'm Burkitt's Lymphoma, one of the world's deadliest cancers. I'm going to suck all of the life out of you and try to kill you!"

I didn't hear my body's first cry for help.  I had been a model of health, wellness and beauty. Over the next six months this outer exterior of perfection would work against me as the parasite used my body and looks to masquerade around in. On the outside I was a 32 year old, standing 5' 9" and weighed 115 lbs. I was confident and happy, naturally tan with long, thick blond hair. I was on my way to becoming a court reporter, and felt as if the world was my oyster.  On the inside I was dying, quickly and torturously.

After several months of denying what my body was telling me, I sought the advice of two doctors, one allopathic the other naturopathic. I gave them my list of complaints such as; sleeping up to 16 hours a day, loss of appetite and night sweats forcing me to change three times a night and waking in soaking sheets.  The doctor dismissed my symptoms and her advice was, "you need to get a life" and that I “can't just sleep all day.” After she complimented me on my weight and physique she sent me on my way. Based on her blind-sighted "doctors orders" I vowed to myself that I would try harder to be better.

On the doctor's advice, I tried harder and the pain grew stronger.  Regardless of continued unbearable pain, which now spread to my lungs and lower back, I was discouraged to seek any other specialist's input. Even though undiagnosed I had all the symptoms of a cancer patient.

On August 18, 2008, I was diagnosed with stage four Burkitt's Lymphoma, a rare and extremely lethal cancer. I was given seven to ten days to live. I underwent the most aggressive treatment available with the idea to try to kill the cancer without killing me in the process. Finally, I was a candidate for a stem cell transplant. After experiencing a litany of grueling side effects, I was left with the dismal results that my cancer had returned and I was given three to six months to live.

My life took a turn of events when Dr. Gonzalez became an alternative resource.  I was done with the medical community as much as they were done with me. There comes a time in one's life where a window of opportunity presents itself.  For me Dr. Gonzalez was that window.

Dr. Gonzalez's unique combination of attending to the mind, body, spirit and lifestyle of a person is carefully choreographed into his medical approach, lending itself a pain free, holistic treatment. With the consumption of pork pancreas enzymes, supplements, diet and thorough detoxification, my cancer was eliminated safely and quickly.

It has been one year to date, (February 10, 2010) since I first began Dr. Gonzalez's program.  The PET scans and Cat scans over this last year have all shown absolutely no signs of cancer.  While the medical community may not understand my cancer remission, I am confident that Dr. Gonzalez's Treatment has saved my life. I am cancer free and I still have my dignity, mental and physical strength, and independence. There is a place for chemotherapy and it did save my life, but only to a point. My cancer "broke" through the chemo and left me as a shell of a person with a very real death sentence. I thank God Dr. Gonzalez was there to take me in, and pick up the pieces of a once whole person and put me back together again. I am eternally thankful for Dr. Gonzalez's courage to bring a different approach of healing into the world.

It is my ultimate dream to see that the Dr. Gonzalez enzyme therapy protocol would be recognized by the medical community for its life saving ability. With this recognition the insurance industry would then see fit to cover the expenses associated with this treatment. Until then, I wonder if there is a way to raise money for those cancer patients who are in dire need of the Gonzalez therapy and cannot afford it.

All is clear

My CT scans and mri this past week all came up clear. There was a very tiny spot on my lungs that they will monitor, but Dr. Rose assured me it was nothing to be concerned about. Thanks be to God! We will return to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester again this April for our follow scans. The doctor has decided to only do a CT scan of my chest and an MRI of my back every 3 months and a CT scan of my pelvic area every 6 months (to reduce my exposure to radiation).  I have also set up a meeting with one of their Alternative Medicine doctors for our next trip.  I consider it a gift not to have to endure chemo and radiation at this time and have been trying to do all I can to build up my immune system and stay healthy.  I am currently taking several supplements and vitamins that have been mentioned in various books and articles to assist in fighting off cancer.

All 'n all, I feel great! This journey has given me a deeper faith and a new outlook on life. It's amazing how many blessings have come out of this experience. And again I thank each of you for your continued support and prayers, words cannot express what it has meant to me and my family.
