last day... a.k.a yesterday

Conversation in the car on the way to church this morning…

Julia: I did xyz….. last day.

Anna Grace: Last day? Julia, it’s not last day… it’s yesterday. Can you say yesterday?

Julia: Yesterday.

Anna Grace: Good job Julia.

(Anna Grace likes to correct her little sister and she uses this kind of adult/teacher tone, very funny)

Just had to share… sometimes their dialogue is so cute.

Also, doing some organizing this week.... inspired by the Organizing Diva over at Simply Seleta.

I've started with the pantry and craft cabinet... found these Sterilite Clip Boxes, perfect for markers, crayons, stamps, etc... (and they were on clearance at Target)

The girls and I started our friendship blossoms this week for their class Valentines. Well, after making all the hearts, we could not figure out how to get the petals (hearts) to stay in place... they kept falling off. So we moved on to plan b... a cute bag full of paper hearts, stickers and a glue stick. Perfect!

Here are the instructions for the Frienship Blossoms: For each, cut three heart-shaped petals (use a heart shaped paper cutter, saves time), two leaves, and two flower centers (again use a flower paper cutter) from scrapbooking paper. Poke a small hole in each, crease the petals as shown, and slide the pieces onto a lollipop stem (we first made a small hole...not big enough...so we used a hole puncher...too big). Tape the bottom to secure (used a lot of tape...still couldn't get it to stay). Cute idea, we just are not crafty enough to pull it off...oh well...we had fun anyway!

Okay, so just went on the Family Fun website and found hundreds of moms that were able to successfully complete this Valentine craft.

art & miss edward scissor hands

Well, the girls and I spent all afternoon working on the Friendship Blossoms. We ran into a little snafu and moved on to plan B. Will post on that tomorrow (with pictures). Anna Grace was doing a great job making the hearts and organizing the project, while Miss Julia practiced her cutting. She just learned to use scissors this week, so she went to town on the cardstock scraps...it looked like Edward Scissor Hands had been hanging out in our kitchen.
