Going to re-read some of the classics this summer... like The Scarlet Letter and To Kill a Mocking Bird... no more cancer books for me (at least not right now). Also, check out the article in the July issue of Southern Living celebrating the 50 year anniversary of To Kill a Mocking Bir and Harper Lee's hometown Monroeville, AL.
As mentioned in one of my previous post, I take several supplements. Some of them are taken for cancer prevention, some to support my immune system and some for other health benefits. Please be sure to do your own research and ask your doctor or nutritionist for professional assistance (seeing-as I am not an expert). If you would like a full list of everything I am taking, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.

It’s official, I’m a label reader. (I carry lists of things to avoid in my purse)
Things to avoid on a food label: food additives, hormones, preservatives, MSG (monosodium glutamate), high fructose corn syrup, “natural flavoring”, aspartame, omego 6 oils, caseinate, autolyzed yeast enzymes (or extract), soy protein, hydrolyzed protein, vegetable protein extract, soy isolates, calcium caseinate, mercury, FD&C red/blue/green/yellow (food coloring).
sodium lauryl sulfate
Things to avoid on a cosmetics label: petroleum jelly, coal tar, parabens, DEA (diethanolamine), formaldehyde, triclosan, PPD (phenylenediamine), phthalates, SLS(E) (sodium lauryl sulfate), propylene glycol, toluene, talc, hydroquinone, TEA (triethanolamine), ethyl acetate, diazolixinyl, cocamide/lauramide DEA, hydroxytoluence, butylate, butyl acetate and “fragrance”.
Other things to avoid: Aluminum, dry-cleaning fluids, bug spray, roundup (weed killers), pesticides.
Don’t be surprised if you find some of these things in almost every label you look at… our food and cosmetics are filled with poisons. So it is almost impossible to avoid them all.We do the best we can.
As for my health, I truly have never felt better. As a family, we are still making changes and transitioning to organic, all natural food and products. Trying to eat more fruits and vegetables, but certainly still have a long way to go.
My skin looks healthier and my scars have healed beautifully… even Anna Grace noticed. The other day she said “Mommy your scar looks really good, it’s not as purple anymore”. I have also managed to dodge the stomach bug and a few colds that have circulated through our house over the past few months. I have so much more energy than I used to. Plus, no more headaches or stomachaches (I’ve always had a sensitive stomach).
Just started this book, will let you know what I find out. (I am sure there are so many things I have missed; please feel free to leave any information you have in the comments area).
Timely advice is as lovely as golden apples in a silver basket.
One more thing... I was amazed to find out that in just one week my blog has been viewed 700 times! Thank you for visiting my blog.
"I AM WITH YOU AND FOR YOU. You face nothing alone - nothing! When you feel anxious, know that you are focusing on the visible world and leaving Me out of the picture. The remedy is simple: Fix your eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen. Verbalize your trust in Me, the Living One who sees you always. I will get you safely through this day and all your days. But you can find Me only in the present. Each day is a precious gift from My Father. How ridiculous to grasp for future gifts when today's is set before you! Receive today's gift gratefully, unwrapping it tenderly and delving into its depths. As you savor this gift, you find Me." - Sarah Young
Also, for those who are suffering with cancer here is a book that I have clung to. I have a copy downstairs, on my nightstand and in my purse. Healed of Cancer by Dodie Osteen; you can order them for $2.00 from www.joelosteen.com (click on books).
Wishing you a beautiful day full of God's blessings.
